Показатель рентабельности инвестиций компании. Коэффициент рассчитывается как отношение прибыли, полученной за определенный период времени, к вложенному капиталу за тот же период. Обычно прибыль до вычета налогов соотносится с вложенным долгосрочным капиталом. Возможны и другие варианты. Например, отношение прибыли до вычета налогов к общей сумме активов (return on assets) или отношение чистой прибыли (после уплаты налогов) к акционерному капиталу (return on equity). В конкурентной политике данный показатель используется для установления того, какую прибыль получает компания - нормальную или сверхприбыль. См. также Allocative efficiency.
